Puli 埔里 is a city in Nantou County, which located at the central of Taiwan. Most of the people stop by Puli 埔里 when they are on their way to Hehuan Mountain, Taroko Gorge and Sun Moon Lake. If you are a wine lover and you happen to pass by Puli 埔里, then you should not miss their famous Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠 that well known for producing excellent Shaoxing Wine 绍兴酒.

Puli 埔里 is well known for its famous liquors Shaoxing Wine 绍兴酒 due to the warm weather and sweet, clear water that makes Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠 produces bright yellow textures and unique fragrance of excellent quality Shaoxing Wine 绍兴酒.

Puli Shaoxing Wine 绍兴酒 is made from fermented high quality sticky rice, barley and distilled water. During the fermentation process, the wines are sealed tightly and stored in earthenware jars for at least 30 months before it is ready to be enjoyed.

Aside from promoting the culture of Shaoxing Wine 绍兴酒, Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠 is also putting more efforts in preserving the history of the winery where it is the first Wine Culture Museum in Taiwan too.

Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠 was once damaged and devastated by the 921 Earthquake. Then, Taiwan government has make some post-earthquake reconstruction efforts to restore Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠 former glory.

Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠 consists of two floors – a marketplace on the ground floor and a museum on the second floor. The first floor of Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠 is selling various types of winery product such as wine eggs, wine ice-cream and one of their signature wine Taiwan Kao Liang 台湾高粱. There is also plenty of small shops selling a variety of souvenirs, aboriginal clothing, art and crafts in Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠.

Upon arrival, guest are greeted with a long escalator straight up to the second floor. The museum is located on the second floor of Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠 where showcasing the history of the winery museum and the entrance is free of charge too.

There was also an exhibition showcase more than 100 bronze and porcelain utensils, art and calligraphy works of Puli artists around the museum.

Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠 also display a collection of wine earthenware jars that used to store the wine in the past. It was a pretty interesting experience to walk through a narrow passageway with rows of earthenware jars stacked up on both sides of the wall.

At the end of the Puli Brewery Factory 埔里酒廠, visitors able to purchase a wine cup and enjoy a free wine tasting of their own choice. The visitor also able to return back to the ground floor to try the food and drink sample as much as they like before deciding to buy any of the product.
