Taroko Gorge National Park Itinerary (Part 3) | Xiangde Temple | Zanne Xanne’s Travel Guide

Xiangde Temple (祥德寺) is one of the beautiful temple that offers an awesome and panoramic bird’s eye view of Taroko Gorge National Park (太鲁阁国家公园). Xiangde Temple (祥德寺) was built in the middle of the mountain and located opposite of Pudu Bridge (普渡桥) and Tien Hsiang Recreational Area (天祥).

In order to reach Xiangde Temple (祥德寺), you have to cross the lotus-guarded bridge ~ Pudu Bridge (普渡桥) and head through the main gate of Xiangde Temple (祥德寺).

There are many steep stairs and  ramps to climb winding through the gardens and mountain forest around Xiangde Temple (祥德寺).

Xiangde Temple (祥德寺) was completed in the year of 1968. The main hall of Xiangde Temple (祥德寺) was surrounded by the Tianfeng Pagoda (天峰塔) and a white rob Guanyin statue (白衣观音菩萨).

The giant white rob Guanyin statue (白衣观音菩萨) is just located at the right side of Xiangde Temple (祥德寺) peering down over Taroko Gorge National Park (太鲁阁国家公园).

Xiangde Temple (祥德寺) has the highest Ksitigarbha statue (地藏菩萨) in the world, a buddha statue which revered by East Asians for protecting those spirits in hell and he vowed not to attain Buddhahood until all beings in hell have been free.

However, the statue was under construction upon my arrival. Hence, I don’t manage to take the picture of the highest Ksitigarbha statue (地藏菩萨) in the world.

Xiangde Temple (祥德寺) also located on a large terrace surrounding by several smaller pagoda buildings and statues such as Tian Feng Pagoda (天峰塔). Unfortunately, it was still COVID-19 period and Tian Feng Pagoda (天峰塔) not allowed visitor to enter the hall.

OVERALL THOUGHT

There are many stairs and ramps to climb when you visit Xiangde Temple (祥德寺). However, the view was awesome and worth for all the climbs as you able to watch the lovely scenery of Liwu River and Taroko Gorge National Park (太鲁阁国家公园).

The only things to take note that you need a pair of good shoes and stamina in order to conquer the climb.🤗
